MDSL Intern Day 4
CasioTone VL5

I bought a CasioTone VL5 for cheap as this unit was listed as not working
- unsure what the main issue was
- checked whether it required center positive / center negative power, turns out its center negative
- learnt abt how to use a power provider unit to provide the amount of power exactly at the voltage a unit requires, in this case it was 7.5V DC
- also that if current drops really quickly when something is plugged in, it means that the circuit is not working properly as no circuits should be drawing current
- also found out about Circuit Bending
- display still doesn't work, suspect that the component itself has some liquid / sun damage
#Amp repair basics

- amp initial issues: reverb doesn't work, but clean output works fine
- learnt about safety protocols for working with amps, chopstick technique, how to change tubes, basics of tube valves - Valve Preamps for Guitar & Bass - Fundamentals of Amplification
