objective: to build something like this but also with a dry/wet OR volume fader

prototype tape head with a dual rail power supply & TL074 op amp chip:

to reiterate:

• check if high impedances and wire shielding is causing the noise
  • look at adding decoupling capacitors
• ground all unused pins on TL074
• test with LM358 circuit for dual rail power (not sure if power here is clean as i have no scope)
• issue with pot: volume is loudest when wiper is in the middle (could be impedance issue)
• need a mechanism that can scratch the cassette wheels / belt

to think about:

• maybe multiple effects can be replicated with simple tape heads (as in the motor mechanism may not be needed)
• maybe designing a bigger gear like the one in the objective video can help with easier scratching??
