Aku Bersaksi - Syafiq Halid's Solo Exhibition

Syafiq halid - someone that made me realise my relationship with music doesn't have to be based on the number of albums / songs / live shows / tours i play, that it can be based off an artistry and a composition of work

the activation was really interesting, to listen to the walls of places we used to house our work, our practice, to celebrate that these places help bring the artist out of us and to grieve the loss of these places

using contact mics, we listen

i think this really opened my perspective on what my artistry can really be and my identity as a music artist

i've already hated the idea of the industry a long time ago, where we box ourselves up and sell ourselves to consumers that don't really care about the art so long as it entertains them and helps to pass their time

this showed me that there are other routes other than the industry, other than streaming, other than live shows, to showcase the art and to be as artistically playful as i want to be
